A Life Beyond Limits novel Chapter 176

Jack said, "You shouldn't think about those things. In fact, you should focus on improving your health. If you have the time, you should go jogging daily. Do you hear me?"

Bella shook her head. "Jogging is so boring! I don't want to do it."

Jack pretended to look stern as he asked, "Do you want to get better or not?"

"I can do yoga!" Bella wriggled around, pressing her chest against him. She laughed softly and asked, "What do you think of my figure, Big Bun? Do you like it?"

He wasn't too pleased with the subject and didn't want to continue in this vein. She seemed to notice how he felt and said coquettishly, "Alright, alright. Don't get mad. I promise to go jogging, but…"

"But what?"

She leaned close to him and whispered, "But you have to do it with me and talk to me. That way, I won't be bored. What do you say?"

She blew on his ear, and the ticklish feeling made him uneasy. She even wriggled in his arms mischievously, her soft and supple skin making his face flush. His breathing sped up.

Jack said awkwardly, "Don't be like this, Bella. There are other people around!"

Bella was unfazed. She continued teasing him until he agreed to jog with her. She even sneaked a few kisses on his cheeks and lips before they left the infirmary. She looked very satisfied.

Sure enough, Bella waited briefly for Jack to respond. When he didn't, she hesitated and played with the hem of her shirt nervously before saying, "If you don't have a girlfriend, Big Bun, can we… Can we try things out for a while? Like an actual couple. What do you think?"

Her gaze was resolute. It was clear she wasn't joking. She couldn't afford to joke around anymore, anyway. She was afraid of scaring him off.

Jack looked her in the eye and sighed softly. "You should stop joking with me."

She returned his gaze firmly before disappointment flickered in her eyes. Then, she laughed. "You're smart, Big Bun. I guess you're lucky you were prepared for it. I was just joking with you."

She waved at him and cheerily returned to her dorm. Jack watched her and smiled bitterly before turning and leaving.
