A Life Beyond Limits novel Chapter 1020

What was Ian Kingsley doing here?

The waitress' heart skipped a beat the moment she recognized Ian. Her first instinct was to rush off and inform the manager.

"Shhh." Ian frowned slightly, his voice calm and composed. "Let's keep this quiet."

"O-Oh… Of course," she said quickly, nodding with a mix of nervousness and excitement. Then, she asked, "Would you like me to call the manager to personally attend to you?"

Ian replied, "No need. Just carry on with your work."

He had come with Myra to meet Jack, and they had important matters to discuss. Attention was the last thing he wanted.

Ian gave the waitress a polite nod, then turned to Myra, extending a hand.

"Come on. Jack's waiting for us inside." They slipped into the private room one after another.

As soon as they disappeared, a group of staff clustered around the waitress and asked curiously, "Leah, who was that guy? And why did you look so stunned when you saw him?"

"Keep your voice down," Leah Satch whispered back. "That was Ian Kingsley, the general's son. He's a very big deal. I saw him once at an event. Even our boss goes out of his way to stay on his good side."

The waitresses' expressions shifted instantly. None of them had expected Ian to be the son of the general. With that kind of background, he could rival even someone like Gerard.

Their hearts started pounding, and they began devising plans.

"Wait a minute. If he's the general's son, then who exactly is this ‘Jack' he mentioned?" one of them whispered, remembering how Ian had spoken to Myra just moments earlier. Her face paled with realization.

When Myra and Ian entered, Jack greeted them warmly, rising to shake their hands with a bright smile. He quickly introduced them to the others.

As the introductions unfolded, both Myra and Ian found themselves stunned. They hadn't realized just how much influence Jack truly commanded.

The investors from Chopington were just as taken aback. They had always known Jack as the self-made founder of Haven Net—a man who didn't have a strong family background but maintained a notably close relationship with Alnewgo's mayor. That alone had earned him their respect.

Now, they saw the general's son and the Tarthy City's Liaison Officer Chief's daughter greeting Jack with such respect. Both of them could stand on equal footing with Gerard.

With such powerful connections, Jack's position was unbeatable. The investors from Chopington couldn't help but regard him with even greater respect. Their tone grew noticeably more cautious, fully aware that a single misstep could carry serious consequences.

Meanwhile, Myra and Ian were equally taken aback. It wasn't just that Jack was on familiar terms with someone like Frank. What truly stunned them was that the leading figures of Chopington's financial elite were Jack's distinguished guests. Moreover, they showed genuine respect toward Jack. This overturned everything they thought they knew about him.
