Patrick explained, "Appearing at this charity gala is worth more than walking the red carpet in Celeste. Besides me, Peter Trevell from Starlight Entertainment will be attending in person with his team. If you catch his eye, it could change the course of your future."
Patrick's words lit a fire in Feena and Bella. The chance to step into such elite social circles was a dream that few stars ever made happen. Patrick's invitation was the greatest honor they could ever receive.
After the food was served, the atmosphere became more lively.
Patrick went to the restroom. Jack noted the direction he headed in from the corner of his eye and followed after him.
At the corner of the corridor, Jack realized Patrick had not gone far and was smoking there.
When Patrick saw Jack walking toward him, he put out his cigarette, and the saccharine smile on his face was replaced with a sinister and terrifying expression. "I knew you would follow me."
Jack asked, "What's your intention in bringing Feena to this charity gala?"
"What do you think?"
With a grim expression, Patrick looked at Jack. "Your girlfriend is beautiful. I'm going to be straight with you—Peter, the son of the Trevell Group, is a huge playboy.
"If your girlfriend attends, there will be a lot of drinking at the gala. I'll find a way to make her drink more. Then, you can piece it together for yourself about what will happen after.
"Consider this a friendly heads-up. It might be a game for more than two, so I might join too."
"You're planning to have your way with Feena, huh?"
"Why not?" Patrick scoffed. "I swore I'd make your life a living hell. If you don't want your girlfriend to turn into damaged goods, make sure you find your goddamn way to attend this charity gala. However, a small fry like you doesn't deserve an invitation."
Jack shook his head. "I wouldn't be so sure about that."
A mocking expression appeared on Patrick's face. "Like I said, only the elite of the elite in Tarthy City will be at this gala. And for the likes of you, some basic nobody boycotted by society, you don't deserve an invitation.
