A Life Beyond Limits (Jack Holland) novel Chapter 958

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"No," Phoebe replied. After sitting firmly in her spot, she said, biting her red lips, "Thank you, Jack. You've saved me so many times. Do you remember saving me from the Norhaven River? And also, when we were in Orthawt, you used your body warmth to save me when I had a fever that night."

Jack remembered these precious memories.

Phoebe gazed into the distance. Her eyes were bright and resolved as she said, "I remember and will never forget them. I once believed you were my guardian angel, but now I know I was wrong.

"From the moment you confessed to Feena at Norhaven River, I realized the truth—you've always been Feena's guardian angel. Jack, promise me you'll take good care of her, okay?"

However, Jack suddenly said, "No!"

His agitated response shocked Phoebe. Her beautiful face flushed slightly. She wasn't sure what had gotten into him.

Jack looked at Phoebe with a burning gaze, and his breathing became heavier.

Phoebe seemed to have sensed something, and her heart started pounding. However, she didn't avert her gaze, as if she was anticipating something.

Jack could feel his grip on reason slowly slipping away. The lady he adored was about to face the pressures of her graduate school entrance examinations. Besides the radio station, there would be fewer chances to be close to her.

So, Jack mustered his courage and inched closer to Phoebe, wanting to do something. Phoebe didn't know what Jack was about to do, but she could guess what might be coming from the look in his eyes.

Her voice shook as she said, "D-Don't come any closer, Jack."

Yet, she didn't move backward because she would have fallen into the lake if she had.

But sometimes, only the wild, animalistic side could obtain one's desired results. Otherwise, fairy tales would lose their magic.

A frail lady like Phoebe could not stop Jack's aggressive behavior. She could only let him take advantage of her.

Jack was finally kissing the woman of his dreams.

Phoebe always appears so proud and aloof, so independent and untouchable. However, as he kissed her dewy red lips, he could feel her tangible presence. She was finally attainable and no longer seemed out of reach.

Still, Jack only lingered on Phoebe's lips as he failed to pry open her cherry lips. However, that wouldn't stop him.

Phoebe couldn't help but part her lips slightly at Jack's faint touch. He instantly seized the opportunity, leaving her with no choice but to allow things to happen.
