The end of the song marked the end of today's special segment.
Jack said to Phoebe while clearing his things, "Phoebe, can you let everyone at the radio station know I might be in Tarthy City for a while. I might not be able to attend any special events if there are any."
"Okay. The graduate school entrance examinations are in January. I need to spend more time preparing for them." Phoebe smiled as she asked, "When are you leaving? Are you going to Tarthy City to see Feena?"
Jack smiled lightly. He didn't confirm or deny it.
Phoebe was tactful enough not to ask any more about it. Instead, she asked, "Have you eaten? If you haven't, let me buy you a meal!"
Jack quickly nodded. "I'm hungry!"
Who would pass up the opportunity to have dinner with Phoebe?
Phoebe showed a bright smile and went to the cafeteria on the second floor with Jack.
Soon, the food was served. Phoebe ate elegantly, tasting the food in small bites.
Jack slowed his pace. When he ate with Phoebe, he would intentionally maintain his composure.
"Jack, can you tell me how you got together with Feena?"
With Phoebe suddenly interested in this topic, Jack felt like she was no longer floating above it all. Her enjoyment of gossip was proof enough of how realistic she was.
"Hmm…" A flicker of embarrassment appeared across Jack's face. There was no way he could tell Phoebe that it all started with an impulsive moment under the bridge.
Phoebe nodded and said nothing else as she dug into her food.
Without them realizing, they finally finished their dinner.
Jack asked Phoebe, "Why don't we go for a stroll to keep our food down? Of course, we can forget about it if you need to study."
Phoebe had always been studious. Although Jack didn't want to part from her so quickly, he didn't want to be in the way of her graduate school entrance examinations.
But to his surprise, Phoebe agreed. She said, "Okay. Let's stroll by the lake. Since the snow hasn't melted away, I want to see what the manmade lake looks like now."
Generally speaking, the manmade lake was a haven for couples. Phoebe had never dated anyone throughout her four years at university. She had only visited the lakeside a few times and had little idea of what the lake looked like beneath its first snow.
