Seeing the driver being beaten and the matter spiraling out of control, the passenger door of the luxury car finally opened.
The moment Jack saw who stepped out, he froze. It was a strikingly beautiful woman. She was Wilhelmina.
Dressed in a sleek black dress with stockings and high heels, her figure exuded confidence and authority. A pair of designer sunglasses rested on her nose, and despite her cold, aloof demeanor, her beauty was undeniable.
Wilhelmina seemed momentarily stunned when her eyes met Jack's. She was clearly not expecting to see him here.
But on second thought, it made perfect sense. As the deputy CEO of Zenith Capital, she had every reason to attend such a major signing event. In fact, she was likely here to represent Zenith Capital in the strategic partnership with Genesis Games.
With an air of elegance, Wilhelmina removed her sunglasses and glanced at Jack with unmistakable disdain. It was the face turned that haunted her nightmares. She hated seeing it in real life even more.
Her voice was stern, and her expression was frosty as she asked, "You really are everywhere, aren't you?"
Jack gave a faint smile. "Looks like fate keeps bringing us together."
Wilhelmina's gaze darkened.
"What the hell is this? You assaulted my driver? Just because your father is powerful doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. Deep down, you're still the same thug from the countryside."
Gasps rippled through the bystanders. No one had expected Jack and Wilhelmina to know each other. The intensity of her contempt and scornful look left no doubt this wasn't their first clash.
And with the signing ceremony just moments away, Wilhelmina couldn't afford to let a personal grudge jeopardize Zenith Capital's biggest investment of the year.
She drew a deep breath, forcing herself to stay composed. "Fine. I'll let you off today for Mr. Quintis' sake. Don't think I'm scared of you, Jack. You can act tough and resort to violence, but without your father, you're nothing. That's something you can never change."
Jack smiled and replied, "Who I am has nothing to do with you. Maybe you should worry more about yourself."
Wilhelmina sneered. "Oh, really? Don't forget the bet we made. There are only just a few months left now. I hope you remember because if you lose, your pride won't matter. But your father's name? That'll still be on the line."
Jack replied confidently, "Not to worry. Give it another year and a half, and I'll show you exactly how I'll crush Zenith Capital."
