A Life Beyond Limits (Jack Holland) novel Chapter 853

The message note caused a stir in Jack's heart. Could Phoebe really immigrate?

Her statement asking for a reason not to migrate seemed to suggest that Phoebe couldn't find a reason not to.

With Phoebe's capabilities, there was little doubt she could complete her undergraduate, master's, and even doctoral studies at Brightland University if she chose to. It meant she would likely fall in love in the coming years, marry, and eventually settle down there. Her chances of returning home would grow slimmer with time, along with the possibility of ever seeing her again.

The thought stirred a trace of melancholy in Jack's heart, bringing back memories of the beautiful moments they once shared.

They were classmates throughout high school for six years and had always stayed in the same class. Since the first year of high school, Phoebe had demonstrated exceptional capabilities and talent, but Jack had remained a low profile.

These six years were the best time of their youth. Even if he couldn't have Phoebe, watching her grow into an icon was a privilege in itself.

However, to their surprise, they enrolled in the same university.

On some level, they could consider themselves high school sweethearts for how their relationship developed from high school to university. Plus, Jack had saved Phoebe's life twice and had a special bond with them. On some level, they should have been closer.

The truth was that Phoebe had always held an exceptionally special place in Jack's heart, even more so than Bella and Feena, but that was all in the past. Jack quickly pulled himself back to reality.

Jack replied to Phoebe's comment. "What's up? Do you miss me? Is there anything I can help you with?"

Jack initially thought Phoebe was probably offline and was prepared to sleep. Then, Jack suddenly noticed that Phoebe's profile picture lit up, and a reply popped up.

"Phoebe, I read your message note. Are you planning to migrate overseas?" Jack asked.

"Yeah! My classmates have already submitted their immigration applications. Even my advisor strongly advises me to do the same," Phoebe replied.

Someone like her, clearly destined to make a name in academia, was the talent any country would consider a national treasure. Offering immigration and generous incentives was simply the most effective way to retain people like her.

"Congratulations are in order then! I knew you would migrate, but I couldn't believe the day had arrived so quickly. I don't know if I'll ever see a beautiful lady like you again. It's such a shame." Jack, in a rare moment, started flirting with Phoebe.

"Oh, is that so? Do you want to see me? Why didn't I feel like you wanted to in the past?" Phoebe replied along with a cheeky, skeptical emoji.
