Her adorable expression instantly made Jack, Bella, and the others burst into laughter. The group left the conference hall chatting and laughing, only to see eight luxury cars parked at the entrance.
A group of people stood around the cars. Some were squatting and smoking, some were glancing around, and others were laughing loudly with no regard for who was watching.
Hugo leaned against his Lamborghini, smoking, with his eyebrows furrowed. He blew a ring of air from his mouth, appearing depressed. A few ladies stood beside Hugo, gently comforting him.
"Don't be sad, Hugo. There's plenty of fish in the sea."
"She'll regret one day for rejecting you."
Ever since he confessed to Bella and got rejected, Hugo had been looking downcast, which tugged at the hearts of the women who secretly liked him.
When Jack and Bella appeared hand in hand, everyone's gazes turned anxious—the person Hugo had waited for had finally arrived.
Hugo saw them, and his face became twisted. He tightened the grip of the cigarette in his hand and furiously threw it on the ground.
Hugo's friends surrounded them, blocking Jack's path.
Hugo strode toward them, and his hands curled into fists.
Suddenly, he pointed at Jack and asked Bella, "Bella, what's so great about him? Why can't I compare to him? He is nothing more than a poor student. I could crush him with money alone. Why did you choose him and not me?"
Then, he directed his attention toward Jack.
With a hoarse yet authoritative voice, he said, "I heard you're from Alnewgo University. I know a handful of people from there, like Hannah Pope, the president of the Entrepreneurs Association. If you're well-informed, you should know what this association does.
"She's amongst us now. If you break up with Bella now, I'll give you a luxury car and even introduce you to Hannah. Then, you can walk around Alnewgo University like you own the place.
"But if you don't know what's good for you, don't think I won't cripple you right here and now. I'll make sure you never survive another day in Alnewgo University."
