A Girl Adopted By Wolves (Three book set) novel Chapter 66

I woke up to Steven tightly wrapped around me. He had a tight hold on me but it was very comforting. How is he even sleeping? He is a vampire right? Well I will ask about it later. The pain is all gone now but I feel a little weak. I don’t want to wake him up but I have to. I can’t move… at all.

“Steven.” I called out. He didn’t even move an inch. “Steven” He just groaned and buried his face in my neck. “Steven wake up.”

He didn’t. I turned in his arms to face him with a lot of difficulty I may add. My body feels sore. I am still a little red in places. Okay all over the body. I look sun burnt. Steven’s face was so close to mine when I turned around that couldn’t help myself but blush. He is beautiful to look at. I want to kiss him so bad. Too close. My nose is touching his. I closed the distance and planted my lips on his. I was about about to pull back when Steven’s fingers took a hold of my face and flipped me on my back with him hovering over me. The next thing I know he was kissing me passionately. I kissed him back with the same intensity. We pulled away after sometime and he grinned at me.

“Good morning.” He greeted pecking my lips.

“Good morning.” I replied smiling at him.

“You feeling good?”

“I feel a lot better. All thanks to you.”

“I am glad you are feeling better. You don’t need to thank me though.” He said frowning.

“Steven why are you helping me?” I asked curiously.

“Why shouldn’t I help you? It’s not much anyways. I do this everyday just like breathing.” He said bitterly.

“Hey don’t talk like that.” I said taking his face in my palm. “You are a really good person. I know why you do what you do. You don’t have a choice at the moment.” I sighed smiling a little. “I wish could heal you.” I said looking at him in his eyes.

My hands tingled. He gasped. I know what’s happening and surely my hands started to glow. I pulled him closer, our foreheads touching and closed my eyes. I can feel the power spreading down his head to where his heart is. I can feel it heal slowly. I can feel the blackness leave his heart slowly. When it was all gone, I opened my eyes but his were still closed. A couple seconds later he opened them with tears in them. I wiped them and kissed his forehead.

“Thank you.” He whispered looking straight in my eyes.

“You don’t need to thank me. I did what I can.” I said smiling at him.

“You don’t know what you did for me. I…I… thank you so such.” He broke down into tears and buried his face in the crook of my neck.

I have never seen him like this before. He is always so uptight. Now he looks so vulnerable. I am so happy for him. He will be able to start over again. Wait a minute. I just healed him. How the hell am I still conscious? I felt my head spin. Here it goes again.

“Steven I don’t mean to sound rude or anything but I might pass out for a while. I just wanted to let you know.” I said to him.

“What?” he said looking at me worried.

He pulled me out and helped me wash up. I didn’t have any strength in me to feel embarrassed anymore. He wrapped a towel around me. I am glad he is doing all this. My body feels so weak at the moment. Healing always takes a toll on me. He carried me to the bedroom and dressed me in his t- shirt and shorts after wiping me dry. I just slumped on him. I want to sleep.

“You need to eat first. You can sleep after you have had something in your stomach. I made chicken soup. I knew you wouldn’t be able to eat solid food in this condition”

I nodded in his chest. I feel groggy. I was on complete auto pilot. Steven carried me to the living room and sat me on the sofa. He went to the kitchen to get the food. He came back with a bowl of soup in one hand and a blood bag in the other.

“I hope you don’t mind. I am starving. I don’t want to hurt you accidently.” He said hopefully.

I nodded and smiled at him. Well I tried to smile at him as I had zero energy left in me. I don’t think I managed to smile at all. Even moving face muscles is a hard job sometimes. He placed the bowl and the blood bag on the table and sat on the couch beside me. He then pulled me on his lap and started feeding me with one hand and helped himself to the blood by the other. Surprisingly I didn’t feel disgusted or anything. The soup tastes delicious though. I felt a little better as I was eating. We were halfway through our food when the front door suddenly opened. I felt Steven freeze. Who the hell came between me and my food?

“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON OVER HERE?” Austin shouted before I could turn around making me wince with the headache that was starting to form.

“Austin please lower your voice. I am having a headache here.” I mumbled.

I knew he heard me with him being a vampire and all. I opened my mouth for more soup and Steven fed me a spoonful. After finishing every last drop of the soup I rested my head on Steven’s chest and closed my eyes. I felt his arms go around me, making me sigh. Before I can enter the dream world a very angry Austin interrupted my bliss.

“Now would be a great time.” He more like snarled at us from right beside the couch.
