A Girl Adopted By Wolves (Three book set) novel Chapter 115

“We need to work faster with our plans. The enemy are closer than we thought.” I voiced as the shifters and other spirit wolves entered the clearing. “I will start tomorrow morning. Make everyone stay home. We can’t take chances now. Steven will get everything sorted with Austin, Cloe, Cassidy and Grayson. We will start with the Alphas first, but I am worried about Zeno now. He doesn’t seem to be in a right state of mind.”

“Maybe he will get better once he shifts and realizes what has actually happened with his first mate.” Stanley voiced.

“Maybe.” I replied not fully convinced. “Ben can be Lucas, Archer and Hudson’s Alpha. Is that okay with you Alpha?”

“We are more than alright with it. You took them in. That’s more than we could ask for. But Lucas is a beta and Archer is a gamma. Won’t there be like two of them in the pack then?” He asked politely.

“Packs are not for hierarchy Alpha. They are more like families. I don’t think having more than one dominant wolves of the same rank will create any problem. If I am thinking right, they will be a more powerful pack.”

“Off course my lady.” He said mortified at my statement and bowed a little.

My eye twitched when he called me ‘my lady’. Couldn’t they use a normal term for me? Like my name.

“Will you please stop calling me ‘my lady’? Please call me by my name.”

“We were taught to treat spirit walkers with utter respect. They are royalty to us. I apologize if I offended you.”

And he bowed again.

“Alpha you don’t need to treat me like royalty. Just treat me like a friend please. You are not bellow me. We are all equal here.”

He looked shocked at my words but nodded nonetheless and so did the other six spirit wolves. Geez I should have given them names. It would have been easier that way and I wouldn’t have felt like they are things or objects. They are living and breathing wolves after all.

“The younger kids are not shifting.” I said firmly. Everyone agreed. “We need to make arrangements to move the non-fighting members of our pack to safety with the protectors in a way that no one will suspect anything.”

“How about we start moving them in small groups? They won’t be too much in the eye that way.” Leo suggested.

I nodded. I was about to stop when I heard a whimper from inside the cabin. I didn’t think twice and ran inside. I saw Ajax curled around a very grumbling Aria. She was waking up. Ajax was looking at her creepily.

Tone it down dude.

I switched on the lights and sat beside her on the bed much to Ajax’s protest which I shut up with a very promising glare of decapitating him if he opened his mouth… or muzzle to complain.

“Mom.” Aria mumbled as she opened her eyes.

“As long as you are safe.” Ajax told her.

“What happened in the woods?” I asked.

“Well I was running and I fell down due to a branch smacking me in the head.” I snorted. More like she ran into a branch head long. “Mom.” She whined. I grinned at her. “Then I realized that I didn’t knew where I was and couldn’t even see a thing. So, I decided to wait till the sun comes up, but I heard voices. At first, I thought it was you guys and was about to shout to gain your attention when I heard that they were talking in Italian. I don’t know how but they found me. They decided to kill me right there but I made a run for it. I tripped again due to low visibility and they beat me up. They were about to snap my neck but stopped and I passed out.”

“They were demons Aria.” I told her. Her mouth popped open in shock. “Do you know what they were doing there? Did you hear anything?”

“I think I have an idea. They didn’t want anyone to know about it. I think they were scouting. That’s why they were going to kill me.”

I nodded.

“Rest here. We have a long week ahead. I will go talk to the pack. Ajax will keep you company.”

Steven and I exited the cabin with a new determination. No body hurts our family and gets to live. They will pay for this.
