Chapter 647

From a Third-Person Perspective

In the heat of close-quarters combat, with no weapons in sight, Adelaide’s partially transformed fists were her deadliest weapons. A faint silver-blue glow shimmered along her knuckles, quietly charged and ready to strike.

She struck first with a sharp punch to Ampelio’s chin, followed swiftly by another blow to his cheek, and then a third that landed squarely on his head.

Ampelio was left almost defenseless.

Adelaide’s speed was nothing short of astonishing. He could only raise his arms in a desperate attempt to shield himself, wildly flailing to block the relentless barrage. Each hit landed with brutal precision, and he was being thoroughly battered.

Standing to the side, Paisley counted out loud, her voice clear and steady, “Forty-five, forty-six, forty-seven…”

At the forty-eighth second, Adelaide used both fists to pry open Ampelio’s guarding arms. Seizing the narrow opening, she lifted her leg high, bringing her knee level with her torso, and delivered a perfectly targeted kick to his chin.

This was the very move Ampelio had intended to use himself.

He had needed space to execute it properly, but Adelaide managed to pull it off smoothly at point-blank range. The move, flexible and fluid, carried immense force.

Ampelio was caught completely off guard. He was thrown backward, landing hard on the ground, struggling to rise.

Members of the Royal Guard hurried over to assist him. Looking up at Adelaide, his eyes burned with a mix of pain and bitter resentment.

Ellen and Anilo had each lasted over forty seconds against Adelaide, engaging in genuine exchanges with her.

Though Adelaide clearly dominated, those bouts had been true sparring matches.

His own turn, however, had been nothing but a humiliating thrashing, leaving him no chance to retaliate.

He was well aware that his skills surpassed those of Ellen and Anilo. The only reason for this crushing defeat was that Adelaide had gone easy on them.

With Ampelio, while she restrained herself enough not to knock him out immediately, she made sure he endured a harsh, painful beating.

In that moment, Ampelio wrestled with conflicting emotions—was he humbled or simply humiliated?

After all, he had lasted forty-eight seconds—one second longer than Ellen. If no one had witnessed his complete rout, he might have claimed a narrow victory over Ellen and Anilo.

But such thoughts were nothing more than wishful fantasy.

Adelaide casually flicked her sleeve and walked over to Paisley, addressing everyone gathered. “From now on, Paisley will be your training instructor. Make sure you show her the respect she deserves.”

A voice muttered from the crowd, barely audible, “How good is she really? Is she even qualified to teach us?”

Paisley’s lips curled into a smirk before she suddenly lunged at Adelaide.
