“He’s suspicious of everyone right now, but Germain is definitely the main suspect,” Adelaide replied.

“Are you going to Styxwarden tomorrow, or just sending Ellen?” Lance asked.

Adelaide said, “Since it’s Lycan Luna Camilla’s pack, it wouldn’t be right to just send Ellen. I’ll go myself. I won’t say much, just point out who I need to question and ask a few things.”

Remembering how they were treated at Mist Shadow, Lance said, “I’ll go with you tomorrow. I have the day off anyway. Stanley should be at the pack. I’ll talk to him myself. Oh, and Stanley likes to travel with his family on his days off. I’ll send someone to let him know first.”

Adelaide agreed immediately. “Okay.”

She really didn’t want to wait for another hour or deal with more dirty looks.

With Lance there to smooth things over, Stanley would know what to do.

The next morning, Stanley left with his mate early.

Before Lance and Adelaide left, Lycan Erasmus called Adelaide to the palace. So it was just Lance and Caldwell who went to Styxwarden.

When the Styxwarden Pack guards saw it was Lance and Caldwell, Zane panicked.

Why was Lance here?
