Chapter 612
Third Person’s POV
Aldrich had returned to the capital alone.

All of his descendants lived in their own territories and held government positions there.
Lycan Erasmus was a little wary of that, especially since the person behind Madison still hadn’t been found.
Until there was solid evidence, Lycan Erasmus would definitely have his doubts.
That evening, Lance and Adelaide headed to Aldrich’s estate, carrying gifts.
They were there under the pretense of a social visit.
Aldrich was living a pretty comfortable life. After dinner, the violinist hired for the estate would come and play for him.
When Lance and Adelaide arrived, Aldrich was in a lounge chair, eyes closed, just taking it
easy.
He was tapping his hand lightly on the armrest, keeping time with the music.
The musician was completely focused, her bow gliding gracefully over the strings. The melody was crisp and clear, like a stream flowing through a valley.
Her long, pale fingers pressed lightly on the strings, controlling every note perfectly.
The music was sweet and beautiful, with a serene, otherworldly feel.
Lance and Adelaide stood by and listened to the entire piece.
They didn’t know the name of the song, but they were both completely lost in it.
When the music stopped, the violinist lowered her bow. Aldrich slowly opened his eyes, and that’s when Lance and Adelaide walked over.
Aldrich smiled. “You guys coming over this late? This can’t be just a simple social call.”
Lance held up the gifts he was carrying. “What do you mean? What’s wrong with giving gifts?”
Adelaide smiled as well. “Hello.”

Aldrich squinted, looking her over. “Look at our first female Gamma,” he said, a smile on his face. “So impressive and spirited.”
“Thank you,” Adelaide replied with a laugh.
“Have a seat,” Aldrich said, gesturing with his hand. The violinist put her instrument away, bowed slightly, and left.
Then the omegas came in one by one, bringing coffee, cookies, candied fruit, and crème brûlée.
Lance and Adelaide had been so busy with work. This was a rare chance to just sit down, have some coffee, and eat snacks. They didn’t stand on ceremony and just enjoyed the moment.
Aldrich seemed to be in great spirits.
He looked at Adelaide. “I told Lance to bring you over ages ago, and you’re just now showing up. You guys have no sincerity at all. Besides, I bet you’re here about something else, right?”
Lance chuckled. “We are here because of the treason case. Madison sent someone to your estate. I’m sure you’ve heard about it already.”
Aldrich grinned triumphantly. “Heard about it or not, it’s all the same. She’s here. All she can do is eat and live well. She can’t even step foot outside the estate.”
“That’s good,” Lance said, teasing.
“What a good life she must be having at your place.”
“A good life?” Aldrich sighed, then laughed. “The day she got here, she told me who she was. Then she begged me to find an excuse to kick her out of the estate. When I asked her why, she said I was too old. Can you believe that?”
“She hurt my pride. I’ve lived my whole life, and who has ever dared to say that to me? It’s outrageous! So, out of spite, I’ve been treating her to the best meals. Now she’s gained a bunch of weight. Come on, let me show you what she looks like.”
With that, Aldrich called out, “Bring Miss Shuman out so Lance and Adelaide can see what she looks like now.”
Lance and Adelaide exchanged a look, surprised.
This woman actually had the nerve to reveal her identity after entering the estate, and even begged to be kicked out?
