Madison smiled at him, but her eyes were full of malice. “I really hope I never see you again. You’re disgusting. As a distinguished werewolf general, you marry a mated she–wolf. It’s because of you that our royal family’s face is dragged through the mud.”
Lance reminded her, “You’re no longer a member of the royal family. Don’t worry about that.”
Madison snorted coldly, “Shame on you! I can insult you like this, and you don’t even get angry. If it weren’t for the leverage you had over me, how could I have been used by you to rebel?”
The recorder, hearing this, turned pale.
Should he record this or not?
What he wrote would be presented to Lycan Erasmus. Today was the first interrogation, and Lycan Erasmus would surely want to know what she had said.
Lance nodded at him, his face showing neither anger nor amusement. “Write it down. Record exactly what she says.”
Madison’s eyes gleamed with venom. “Yes, the more I drag you down, the easier it is for you to clear your name. But don’t think you can get away. You’ve ruined me, and I won’t let you off the hook. Even if I’m going to hell, I’ll take you with me.”
She added, “Lycan Erasmus will surely investigate–You, Lance, is the one who truly wanted to rebel. I was just coerced by you. Those who say I rebelled are blind and heartless.”
“I don’t even have a son. What’s the point of rebelling? This country doesn’t even have female officials. Could it possibly tolerate a female Lycan King?”
Lance corrected her, “There are female officials now–Adelaide, the one you claim conspired with me to rebel. She’s now Gamma Adelaide, the commander of the Ironthorn Army. She’s also involved in investigating your treason case.”
Madison was taken aback, her eyes instantly blazing with fury. “Her? Huh, Lycan Erasmus is truly muddled, making exceptions for her again and again. Just because of Alpha Bentley’s contributions, she’s not only lived a life of luxury but now wields real power? Handing the Ironthorn Army over to Adelaide–does he want to court disaster?”
Lance smiled, “I think Lycan Erasmus’s move is quite good. Gamma Adelaide’s abilities are

plain for all to see. Her father and brother detest those who disrupt the kingdom the most. With her in charge, no traitor could possibly succeed. Some people, after years of careful planning, might just see their efforts go to waste.”
“You’re mad!” Madison looked at him in disbelief.
His words were clearly meant for Lycan Erasmus.
But Lycan Erasmus wasn’t foolish; he’d surely see through his intentions.
By saying that Adelaide guarding the capital made it impossible for traitors to succeed, he was also implying something else.
What if Adelaide rebelled? Wouldn’t the reinforcements outside be unable to get in?
Testing Lycan Erasmus’s trust in them in such a way was sheer madness.
How could Lycan Erasmus trust them?
They were the people in the entire kingdom who posed the greatest threat to his position.
Lance smiled at her, revealing a row of white teeth, “My interrogation is over.”
“Is that all you’ve got?”
Madison sneered, “Not going to ask anymore? Keep interrogating.”
Lance said, “Don’t worry, if I don’t interrogate, someone else will. Be prepared; you might be interrogated all night.”
Madison glared at him viciously, “Do you think I’m afraid? No matter who interrogates me, the answer will be the same. Lance, don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. You won’t get away with it. I’ll hold on to you tightly.”
“There’s nothing special. Everything will be handled according to legal procedures,” Lance said, striding out of the room.
After Lance left the interrogation room, Dennis walked in and sat down.
“Madison, I’m not here to ask about the treason case. We found multiple bodies and dozens of infant remains in the ancient well of your manor. We’ve already interrogated your servants, and they all say you killed these people. Do you plead guilty?”
Madison coldly glanced at Dennis, silent, her expression full of contempt.
