Adelaide knew what she was getting at and replied, “It’s hard to say. It depends on how Lycan Erasmus will view them. If he sees them as pawns who were used and as victims, then there won’t be much of an issue. But if he deems them as accomplices, then the situation becomes serious.”

Paisley added, “Based on the current evidence, the first possibility seems more likely. They were all coerced. Madison had control over their mothers and forced them to do things they didn’t want to do, threatening them with various punishments if they didn’t comply…… But we can’t be too certain, after all, this is a treason case. Everything will depend on Lycan Erasmus’s decision.”

“I understand. Thank you for informing me,” Christine said, deeply touched. She would keep this favor in mind.

Adelaide stood up and said, “We shouldn’t stay long. We’ll take our leave now.”

Christine got up to see them off, her expression returning to its usual composure.

Then, she strode up to Christine indignantly and said, “Christine, what’s the meaning of this? You’ve told her about my business with Ulrik. Are you trying to embarrass me on purpose?”

Christine wearily massaged her forehead–Luna Cynthia was right, her daughter’s mind was indeed empty.

Adelaide gave Gloria a puzzled look—hadn’t Ulrik been promoted? What was there to be embarrassed about?

Fiona quickly stepped forward to support Gloria as well and said, “The doctor said you should avoid moving around too much. You should go back and rest. Christine will see Gamma Adelaide off. You don’t need to come out specially.”

“Christine, why did they come?” Gloria followed her in, hands on her hips.
