Paisley coated her face with thick foundation to cover her swollen cheek and headed to see Ramona.

The Barker family recognized her due to her prior interactions with Ramona.

However, Paisley was stopped outside and not allowed in.

After Madison’s downfall, the Barkers had escaped her control but lost their backing as well.

Instead of taking in the frail Aireanna, they placed her and Ramona in a nearby dilapidated house, sending over bread and milk daily.

The guard spoke to Paisley with irritation, “We’ve told you, we have no Aireanna here! If you’re looking for her, go to that rundown shack over there!”

Paisley’s temper was already frayed from a morning punch by Avery.

Now, facing this attitude, she snapped.

She grabbed the guard’s ear and barked, “Lead the way!”

While Ramona attended to her mother, Paisley leaped onto the roof to inspect the damage.

Expecting only misplaced tiles, she found many broken ones, requiring a full replacement.

When Ramona and Aireanna emerged, they were startled to see Paisley jumping down from the roof.

“What were you doing up there?” Ramona asked, puzzled.

“Haven’t you noticed the broken roof? If it rains, this place will flood. Even without rain, the wind will howl through at night. How will you survive the winter?” Paisley explained.

Ramona replied softly, “I know. I’ll arrange for repairs soon.”

Paisley glanced at Aireanna, noting her dire state.

She added, “Why did you bring your mother out here? Get her back to bed.”

Aireanna struggled to bow, her voice faint, “I must thank you and Luna Adelaide. Without you, I’d still be imprisoned in that basement, perhaps dead.”

Paisley, alarmed by her paleness and instability, quickly supported her.
