Madison’s mansion blazed with light.

Her name, chosen by her father, had carried the Lycan King’s hope for a noble and cultivated spirit–a hope that remained unfulfilled.

Her furious roars echoed throughout the mansion: “Why are you following me? Get out! I’ll kill you all!”

Her voice, raw and broken, still carried her threats.

From the backyard to the front, every person she saw was an intruder.

Now, only Madison roamed freely in her own mansion.

“Where’s Rosa?” she screamed as she burst into the conference hall, her hair disheveled and her appearance wild.

The women present trembled with fear, their bones chilled by her mere voice.

Mrs. Voss ignored Madison’s tantrum and focused on the wolf doctors tending to the injured women.

She had already questioned those who could speak, learning they were all abducted and not from the city.

Except for one, Aireanna–a skeletal figure, too weak to sit, hacking away with violent coughs.

Madison suddenly seized Aireanna’s hair, her eyes bulging with rage. “Who let you out? Crawl back to the dungeon!”

No one expected her sudden violence. She had paced the conference hall several times, ignoring the women, so everyone thought she wouldn’t care about them.

Aireanna was yanked by the hair and slammed to the ground. Tears streamed down her face from the pain, but she didn’t dare utter a sound.

The Capital Guard members, though present, hesitated to intervene.

“Let her go!” they urged.

Madison’s wild gaze fixed on Mrs. Voss. “Who do you think you are, ordering me around? Try to touch me!”

Dragging Aireanna by the hair, Madison advanced on the Guard.

They retreated, helpless to act.

Mrs. Voss stood up and slapped Madison.

“I’ve touched you. What now, madwoman?”

“How dare you!” Madison suddenly let go of Aireanna and tried to lunge at Mrs. Voss.

This time, the Capital Guard didn’t stand idly by but swiftly intervened to restrain Madison.

Madison, unable to reach Mrs. Voss, turned her frenzy on the guards, raking their faces and heads with her nails, drawing blood from several.

The guards, now pained and urgent, decided to act.

They trip her with a well–timed kick and dodge her lunge.

Losing her balance, Madison fell forward, her forehead striking the floor with a sickening thud.

Mrs, Voss barked, “Get some ropes! If you won’t tie her up, I will!”

The guards rushed to fetch ropes.

With Mrs. Voss in charge, they weren’t about to let her act. Madison was quickly bound to a pillar in the hall.

Madison’s forehead bore a bruised swelling.

She thrashed wildly, but the ropes held tight.

All she could do was shoot Mrs. Voss a venomous glare and spit out threats, “I’m Princess Madison! How dare you embarrass the royal family? Do you have any idea what a crime this is? I’ll have Lycan Erasmus execute your entire family!”

Mrs. Voss remained unmoved. “Save your theatrics. Face the consequences of your actions. Even madness won’t spare you the law.”

Madison’s voice devolved into a hoarse, gravelly growl. “Who’s pretending? You old hag! Kneel and apologize now, and maybe I’ll spare you…”

Mrs. Voss dismissed her rants.

She recognized the desperation in Madison’s eyes–the fear and guilt behind the madness.

She knew Madison’s outburst was a last–ditch attempt to cope.

She knew Madison would tire eventually.

At the Blackthorn Pack, the study light burned late.

The news was in: the infiltrators had succeeded and escaped. Only Lance hadn’t returned yet.

“Trust him to be thorough. He’ll return once he’s sure everything’s safe,” Adelaide said, urging Caldwell to rest.

The others waited in silence, each lost in thought.

Only Craig read leisurely by the fire.

Paisley yawned against Adelaide’s shoulder, “If he doesn’t come back soon, dawn will break.”
